Global believes they deliver better consistency providing predictable feedback during cornering and trail braking. Also, chassis diagnostics is easier and there is less chance of bottoming on lowered vehicles. Variable rate springs tend to over emphasize the geometry curve giving you more tire movement than necessary--not an issue with linear rate springs.
