MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor spark plug wire sets feature a special helically wound core that has just 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot—but with an RFI suppression equal to a 1,500 ohm wire. In fact, each foot of finished wire includes 40 ft. of tightly wound copper for superior conductivity. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective Electro Magnetic Interference "choke." This choke, or suppression capability, keeps the EMI inside the wire where it cannot interfere with other electronics on your vehicle. A tough, 8.5mm synthetic/silicone jacket over an extra-heavy glass braid and dielectric insulator keeps the current guided to the plugs. All that's required is to install the distributor in the engine, and connect three wires and the coil! A maintenance-free magnetic pickup accurately triggers this ignition with increased output from the amplifier, easily outperforming stock ignitions. It will smooth out the engine's idle, improve starting, and perform at a much higher rpm. The housing is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum, using state-of-the-art CNC mills and lathes for a unit with no porosity or weak areas. For stability and endurance, an oversized steel shaft spins in a top-mounted sealed ball bearing, while an extra-long sintered bushing guides the shaft at the base of the housing. This shaft also receives a QPQ coating for low friction wear and resistance against corrosion from humidity and ozone buildup. For the price, no other part can give you the horsepower and fuel economy improvements of Hedman headers. They make Hedman Street headers so well that they guarantee them to be free from defects--including cracks in the tubes and welds--for the life of the headers. Hedman Street headers are available uncoated or in Black Maxx or their polished HTC thermal ceramic coated finishes and, as an added bonus, they also come with all necessary gaskets and mounting hardware. Unless otherwise noted, these headers are designed to fit the vehicle as it came from the manufacturer. This includes components like cylinder heads, chassis, steering, motor mounts, body mounts, and bushings, etc. If your vehicle is using aftermarket components, parts from other applications, or custom-altered parts, then it is the installer's responsibility to verify fitment. Special warning regarding Hedman painted headers only. The paint on these headers is not designed as a final finish; it is designed to protect the headers after the manufacturing process and during shipping.
