Following a 25-year absence from the Ford lineup, the Bronco made its long-awaited return for the 2021 model year. The sixth generation Bronco combined retro styling with an extensive range of innovative features and technologies. Among these is Ford’s exclusive Terrain Management System, allowing drivers to choose between up to seven driving modes. The new Bronco also became the first to be offered in a four-door version. At launch, the new generation Bronco boasted two powertrain options: the base EcoBoost 2.3L turbocharged inline-4 engine capable of producing 270 horsepower and an upgraded 310-hp 2.7L V6 engine. Broncos fitted with the 2.3L engine came standard with a seven-speed manual transmission, which could be upgraded to the same 10-speed automatic transmission paired with the 2.7L version. Ford expanded the Bronco engine options when it debuted the Raptor trim level for 2022. Available exclusively in a four-door version, the trim features a 400-hp EcoBoost 3.0L V6 engine along with upgraded shocks, greater ground clearance, dual exhaust, and other significant enhancements.
