The S&S Cycle 74 inch stock bore cylinder kits are intended to replace worn cylinders and pistons of a 74 in. Shovelhead engine for a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle and keep stock compression ratio of 8:1. The primary purpose of these S&S Cycle stock bore cylinder kits is to maintain the original "74 cubic inch" displacement of older Harley-Davidson® engines, essentially allowing for a rebuild, while also keeping the engine size the same without increasing the bore size beyond the standard dimensions for a 74 cubic inch engine.
