Additional notes:
* Twin Cam engines utilize a non-adjustable crankshaft position sensor. This means that mechanical timing adjustments are no longer possible. The 1009/TC88A allows you to adjust your initial timing +/- 4 degrees using a rotary switch. A second switch sets the advance curve slope. The combination of these two switches allows the user to optimize the timing advance for a wide range of applications, from stock to highly modified engines.
* The 1009/TC88A also features built-in data logging that stores data in an endless loop for the last 30 minutes of engine operation—including RPM, vehicle speed, manifold pressure, ignition advance, and battery voltage. Engine builders will find the data logging feature highly useful for tuning, diagnosing problems, and reducing unjustified warranty claims.
* Like the H-D© OE module, the TC88A sends RPM data to the OE tachometer over the J1850 data bus. TC88A units also provide an optional 12 V square wave tach signal (one pulse per revolution) that is compatible with most tachometers intended for 1999-2003 Twin Cam 88 applications. This allows you to retrofit a wide range of tachometers to newer 2004-06 models.
