Designed with the budget racer in mind, these camshafts are ideal for the enthusiast looking for great results while maintaining a modest rpm range. Race Day cams are intended to be used with high compression and the proper racing fuel for best results. The base version of these camshafts is designed to work with stock rocker arms and quality performance hydraulic lifters. This cam will have a rough, race car idle. It also requires pistons with valve reliefs for proper piston-to-valve clearance. Race Day Series camshafts require intake and exhaust modifications for maximum flow. Headers, open or racing exhaust, racing intake systems, properly suited racing torque converter, and optimal rear axle ratios to achieve maximum performance. Race Day LS camshafts are designed with Cam Motion's renowned smooth cam lobe design, providing quiet valve train operation and excellent upper rpm stability. This hydraulic roller tappet-style model is offered in 5150, 8660, and Cam Motion's top-of-the-line 8620 camshaft cores.
