Stage 2 operation provides extra stroke and actually locks the thermostats open when overheating is encountered. These thermostats are constructed from stainless steel and include an integrated jiggle valve to help stabilize the pressure in the engine, reducing engine warm-up delay and eliminating trapped air in the cooling system
