They reduce clutter in your engine bay by eliminating the ignition wire, and they give you one less wire to trace if something goes wrong with your charging system! These GM alternators can be connected to the positive side of the battery or the starter solenoid and are available in 60 to 140 amps for those power-hungry systems. Street one-wire alternators include a lightweight, 3 in., hard coat anodized aluminum pulley--as hard as steel, but lightweight--with an extra-deep groove to ensure belt retention.
