Inspired by the legendary Dakar Rally and named after the Argentine city along its route, the Salta HD's race-inspired 16-spoke design not only looks great, but also adds significant strength to the wheel. AEV's signature recessed valve stems provide added protection from rocks and other objects on the trail. The wheels feature a Ram-specific backspacing that is designed for the perfect fitment with or without factory fender flares when using up to a 37 in. tire (when used with AEV's 3 in. suspension system). This vehicle specific wheel design provides the optimal balance of tire clearance, scrub radius, and handling. Designed for specific front and rear axles of several popular trucks and Jeeps, these heavy-duty, high-strength nodular iron covers have a fluid level port or ports placed at the correct level to meet factory specifications (for front or rear), eliminating the need to guess on the oil level or use a dipstick to figure out the correct amount of oil. For added convenience, all differential covers feature American Expedition Vehicles' exclusive oversized oil fill port located on the top of the cover. This fill port not only allows you to easily add fluid in the field if axle repairs are necessary, but also doubles as an inspection port, allowing you to see inside the differential, inspect ring gear teeth, look for water intrusion, or even use a dial indicator to inspect for problems without ever removing the cover.
