AEV Conversions DualSport XT suspension kits focus on tuning and geometry to deliver added highway and trail performance in a 2.5 in. lift. AEV set out to specially tune coils and shocks that are unique to the needs of a lower system, resulting in frequency-tuned, triple-rate coils at all four corners and custom-tuned Bilstein shocks matched to the coils. They also evaluated the system for cornering and braking and determined that a new, geometry-corrected rear track arm tower would be needed to help create the kind of handling AEV suspension systems are expected to have. They feature HSBS—Hot Stamped Boron Steel—construction, an ultra-high strength, press-hardened steel used in automotive applications for passenger impact protection because it is lightweight with an extremely high-yield strength (approximately 200,000 ksi vs. mild steel at 25,000 ksi). After pioneering Geometry Correction Brackets back in 2010, AEV Conversions has raised the bar again with the industry's first Stamped Geometry Correction Brackets. Designed to correct the front-end control arm geometry on vehicles with 2 - 4.5 in. of suspension lift, these brackets improve ride quality by eliminating front axle 'precession' caused by uncorrected suspension lift geometry. The corrected motion allows the front tires to move up and rearward (as they did on the stock vehicle) in response to a bump rather than trying to 'lunge' over it. Additionally, they dramatically reduce front-end 'dive' during hard braking by relocating the 'virtual instant center' of the front suspension. They also provide alignment correction for proper tracking by restoring caster angle without the need for cam bolts or different/adjustable arms—plus a slight reduction in maximum front driveshaft angle during suspension travel. The stamping process provides improved strength while reducing weight, and the new keyed square caster blocks allow for easy "set it and forget it" adjustments rather than round cam bolts that can slip and require special fasteners. AEV's Stamped Geometry Correction Brackets are compatible with both JL Wrangler and Gladiator and are included standard with AEV's 2.5 in. DualSport RT Suspension System for JL Wrangler. These brackets can be added as an option to AEV's 2 in. spacer lift, in addition to other brand suspension systems that also retain the OE front control arms. AEV Conversions high steer kits provide significant improvements to steering precision and handling by correcting the roll center height of the front suspension. Bringing the steering geometry back into factory alignment reduces body roll, bump steer, and roll steer—all major contributors to the loose or sloppy steering and driver fatigue commonly associated with many lift kits. AEV kits include a flipped draglink to improve ground clearance, as well as a heavy-duty steering damper. AEV's high steer kit is included with their 3.5 - 4.5 in. DualSport SC and RS suspensions, but can also be added on to suspensions in the 3.0 - 4.5 in. range from other manufacturers. A minimum of 3.0 in. of jounce bump spacing is required.
