Feed Your Big Chevy Serious Airflow with Edelbrock Big Victor Spread-Port CNC Cylinder Heads
Edelbrock’s Big Victor Spread-Port CNC Cylinder Heads aren’t for the faint of heart. They’re designed for 598 cubic inch and larger big block Chevy race engines, especially those running turbos or nitrous oxide. The Big Victors are cast from A356-T6 aluminum in Edelbrock’s US foundry using a Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) process. HIP creates a dense casting with high tensile strength to withstand high cylinder pressures associated with high-horsepower, high-RPM engines.
The Big Victors have CNC-ported 498cc intake runners that flow 523.8 CFM of air at a whopping one inch of valve lift. The CNC-machined 82cc combustion chambers have a conical shape instead of a radius shape. This helps reduce detonation, a big benefit for turbocharged and nitrous-fed engines that generate very high cylinder pressures.
The combustion chambers are machined for 2.5-inch intake and 1.80-inch exhaust valves. The shallow 12-degree valve maximizes airflow and velocity through the head to further improve performance. Manganese bronze valve guides are fitted with precise tolerances to allow the valves to seal securely. That eliminates leak-down and increases cylinder pressures during engine operation.

Get Sequential-Port EFI Performance with an Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 EFI System
Edelbrock’s Pro-Flo 4 EFI Systems look a lot like a typical throttle-body style EFI system, which incorporates the fuel injectors and fuel rails within the throttle body. But the Pro-Flo 4 systems are anything but. Instead of mounting the injectors and fuel rails in the throttle body, Edelbrock mounted them on the system’s intake manifold, creating a sequential-port EFI system with one injector per cylinder and a 1,000 CFM throttle body that flows only air. That means superior fuel distribution, smoother idle, great throttle response, and improved peak power. The Pro-Flo 4 system’s design also allows you to use a carburetor-style air cleaner for a traditional look.
