Edelbrock Performer RPM Vortec intake manifolds are based on their highly successful Performer family. They're designed for street rods, marine applications, and a host of engine swaps using small block Chevy V8s with 1996 and later Vortec (L31) cast iron heads or Edelbrock's E-Tec aluminum heads. They accept single square bore carbs only and have an external water bypass boss machined into the front of the water crossover for use on 1996 and later Vortec production engines. Their 1,500 rpm to 5,500 rpm power band makes them an excellent choice for a wide range of setups.

Single plane Chevrolet Performance Parts' Eliminator Vortec intake manifolds mount a single high-flow 4-barrel with a runner and plenum configuration, fine-tuned to produce maximum power and torque from Vortec heads. An open "air-gap" space under the runners is engineered to reduce heat transfer to the intake charge, which helps to further maximize power.

Top Street Performance Vortec intake manifolds are dual plane, high performance units ideal for street performance applications with a design that improves throttle response, as well as power and torque over a wide rpm range--idle to 5,500. They are cast from lightweight aluminum and feature a low-profile for ideal hood clearance. The TSP Vortec manifolds have additional provisions, including dual distributor hold-downs, 4-corner water ports, and a choke block-off kit. They are set up for spread bore carbs and include an adapter plate and gasket for use with square bore types. Note: As Vortec blocks do not have a water bypass, the manifolds are equipped with a provision to connect to a stock water pump using a 5/8 in. heater hose.

These Professional Products CrossWind Vortec manifolds are intended for 1995 and earlier blocks using the 1996 and later Vortec (Gen 1+) cylinder heads or the Edelbrock E-Tec heads. They can also be used on 1996 and later Vortec engines, but require running a short length of heater hose from a pipe tapped hole in the front of the manifold to the 5/8 in. hose nipple on the passenger's side of the water pump. The 1996 and later Vortec blocks do not have a water bypass in the block, and this minor modification takes care of that problem. These are one of Professional Products' most popular street manifolds.

Tuned Port Injected (TPI) engines with Vortec heads are a reality, thanks to the Chevrolet Performance team. Their engine dynometer tests have shown a 40 hp gain with the new Vortec TPI base plate and stock Vortec heads versus the stock L98 engine. The Vortec TPI base manifold was designed from the original GM TPI intake to be a universal fit for Chevrolet/Pontiac cars (1985-92) that were equipped with factory Tuned Port Fuel Injection—and the cylinder heads have been replaced with the new style raised-port improved flowing Vortec heads from Chevrolet Performance. * Performance gains: In-house testing has proven a gain of 40 hp over a stock L98 engine. The larger runners of the TPI Vortec baseplate, combined with the excellent flow characteristics of the GM Vortec heads, produced 300 hp on an otherwise stock L98 engine. Other modifications such as camshafts, rocker arms, and injectors produced as much as 375 hp with the stock computer and throttle body. Testing was performed with a mass airflow (MAF) sensor system. * Minor modifications required: TPI Vortec baseplates are a universal design that we patterned after the original GM TPI baseplate. Because it is a universal design, you should first test fit all components that bolt directly to the intake and make any required modification prior to final installation. Some modifications may be required of the external components related to the intake and EGR systems.

Edelbrock Performer RPM Air-Gap intake manifolds incorporate race-winning technology that's been used on Victor Series competition intakes for years. The open air space from the Air-Gap design separates the runners from the heat of the lifter-valley cover. So, the air/fuel mixture stays cooler all the way to the heads, which produces a denser charge for more power. Runners are tuned to move the power band 1,000 rpm higher than Performer Air-Gap manifolds, from idle to 5,500 rpm up to 1,500 to 6,500 rpm.

Edelbrock Super Victor intake manifolds are arguably the most popular and flexible manifolds in racing today. You'll find these single-plane manifolds on oval tracks, in drag racing, and on NASCAR engines--anywhere that maximum horsepower and torque are needed. The extended, constant cross-sectional area of the runners produces more torque across the midrange--from 3,500 up to 8,500 rpm in most instances. So, they deliver great throttle response off of the corners in oval track racing and improved 60 ft. times in drag racing. Their direct "line-of-sight" flow path provides maximum flow and there's plenty of material for port matching. They're also ideal for alcohol use.
