During the same year, the company launched the fourth-generation RAM 2500 with subtle design changes, updated suspension, a new Hemi engine option, and the “Rambox” bed wall storage system. The vehicle retained the Mega Cab option from the previous generation 2500. A heavy-duty Chassis Cab also was available with either a 5.7L Hemi V8 or an optional 6.7L Cummins turbo diesel engine. The latest generation of RAM 2500 trucks introduced numerous enhancements throughout its run, including electronic stability control, optional air suspension, and center axle disconnect technology to disengage the front axle while in 2wd (4x4 models).
