The third-generation Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck emerged completely redesigned for the 2003 model year with an all-new frame and powertrain options to go along with body styling heavily inspired by its predecessor. While the 1500 received a new, independent front suspension, the 3500 retained its live axles to promote durability and long service life. Dodge upgraded the Ram in 2006, giving the vehicle a facelift, integrating Bluetooth® U Connect technology as an option, and introducing the “Mega Cab” with an extra 22 inches of extra cab space to go along with a 6.25-foot box.
