The heavy-duty pressure plate has an increased clamp load with little or no increase in pedal pressure to offer stock feel, while increasing strength and durability. The organic disc material has a high metal content that increases the co-efficient of friction by two times over a stock lining. This greatly increases rotational strength up to a 12,000 rpm burst point for high performance. MagnaFlow direct-fit catalytic converters are designed for easy bolt-on installation for the professional installer. Welding, cutting, and tube-bending equipment are not required. These cats feature a ribbed body that minimizes expansion and distortion when the converters heat up. The ribs form a channel that protects the cushioning mat from direct exposure to exhaust gases, and they hold the ceramic catalyst in proper alignment. MagnaFlow converters use a monolithic honeycomb catalyst; the ceramic coating is designed for maximum flow and surface area, and the coating method is strictly controlled to maintain exact specifications. Improper coating could result in flow restrictions or an emissions test failure. The main benefit of universal catalytic converters is that one unit may cover a wide variety of vehicle makes and models. Installing universal converters often requires the use of welding, cutting, and tube-bending equipment that is readily available to most professional installers. They are extremely well made, with features such as: * A ribbed body that minimizes expansion and distortion when the converter heats up. They form a channel that protects the cushioning mat from direct exposure to exhaust gasses, and hold the ceramic catalyst in proper alignment. * A 1/2 in. lap joint where the necks meet the body.
