Scott Drake billet aluminum power steering pump pulleys are designed to work exclusively on Ford power steering pumps. Depending on the year and engine size, Ford offered 2 different diameter pulleys, a 5 in. and 5.5 in. Be sure to measure your original pulley to get the right diameter. They are interchangeable and both will work for just about any application. The larger 5.5 in. diameter version is best suited for high-rpm operation as it will help protect the pump. The smaller 5 in. version provides more power assist at low-rpm especially idle but not ideal for racing or high-rpms.

The benefit of a billet aluminum pulley over a cast pulley is equal density. With a cast pulley, the aluminum is poured into a mold and then allowed to cool. This process can create variations in density throughout the pulley. Dense areas are heavier than the more porous areas causing the pulley to vibrate at high RPM. These billet pulleys are equally dense throughout; equal weight translates to a true and balanced pulley drive system.
