They are cut on CNC 5 axis laser cutters rather than plasma cutters to improve finish quality, reduce heat damage and warpage from the plasma cutter, improve speed of manufacture, and make them all exactly the same. Doug's Headers
Doug's Headers has long been recognized of as one of the premiere exhaust header manufacturers in the performance industry. Since1958, they have been producing high-quality, hand-built, mandrel-bent exhaust headers. Each and every header is tuned with the proper tube size and length to efficiently remove all of the exhaust from each cylinder, reducing pumping losses, and resulting in dramatic increases in horsepower and torque. Doug's headers are carefully developed on the vehicles that they are intended to fit and are re-checked numerous times during the design and manufacturing process. Their designs include mid-length headers, Tri-Y headers, and long tube headers, plus manifold replacement headers. Their headers come with all the necessary mounting hardware, collector reducers or connector pipes, premium extra-thick gaskets, and detailed installation instruction sheets. The gaskets are rated up to 1100 degrees F, pressures to 3700 psig (255 bar), and are designed for an exact port match with their headers. Doug's Headers offer a choice of finishes: * Metallic Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating (MCTBC), which is polished with a vibratory finishing process that not only produces a high-luster aluminum appearance, but also compresses and activates the coating, which increases the surface hardness. Auburn Gear Select-A-Loc differentials maximize your vehicle's traction with on-the-go system engage. These electronically controlled traction-enhancing differentials are selectable lockers offering the traction control of a limited-slip differential and a full-locking differential--all in one! When locker switch is off, the clutch pack activates the limited-slip mode. As torque increases, the separating forces within the differential gears increase, causing the clutch pack to be compressed, in turn providing bias torque to the highest traction wheel.
