Ridetech Frame Rail Braces
Ridetech frame rail braces (often called chassis stiffeners) are heavy-duty, tubular steel reinforcements designed to reduce structural flex in vintage trucks and muscle cars. By triangulating the original frame rails and crossmember, they eliminate twisting, improve handling, and ensure the suspension functions optimally under load. Additional details: * Reduced body flex: They stiffen the vehicle's chassis, preventing the frame from twisting during hard cornering or aggressive acceleration * Improved handling: With a more rigid platform, the suspension is allowed to do its job properly, leading to sharper steering response and better overall vehicle control * Durable construction: Typically fabricated from heavy-gauge 1 in. O.D. x .219 in. wall DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) steel tubing and finished with durable powdercoating to resist the elements * Bolt-on installation: Most of these braces are engineered as direct, bolt-in upgrades, meaning they require no welding for installation and utilize factory mounting points. Hardware is included * Popular applications: Ridetech manufactures these braces for a variety of classic performance vehicles and trucks. Some of the most popular fitments include: -- 1973-87 Chevy C10 trucks: These heavy-duty braces connect the frame rails to the crossmember to dramatically stiffen the front clip against twisting -- 1964-66 Ford Mustang: Tubular braces that replace the thin factory braces, reducing flex while providing increased clearance for the oil pan and steering components -- 1961-65 Ford Falcon: Designed specifically to increase structural rigidity in early Falcon V8 models
