Next, their intakes are made of high-quality aluminum--not heat-absorbing plastic. Their intake tubes have a ceramic coating both inside and out to reduce heat soak, as well as to keep radiant heat from penetrating the intake air. And they've applied 3/8 in. thermal insulation inside the air box to prevent heat transfer from the engine bay. Each cold air intake is TIG-welded by hand and powdercoated, plus the air box lids feature a clear viewing window for easier filter inspection.
