Factory firewalls are often full of holes and dings, and have a seam running through them that will cause cracks if not covered with metal. RDS upgrade panels are weld-in pieces that can be installed by anyone with basic sheet metal fabrication and welding skills. Thicker than stock for rigidity, they install overtop of the factory firewalls, and feature a deep 4 in. recess for all big block and LS engine installations. Their rounded recessed corners look better in a classic vehicle than square corner firewalls on the market, and they allow the use of Vintage Air Gen IV A/C systems and Raingear wiper systems.
