That's where Holley retrofit oil pan baffle kits for the GM LS engines come in handy. They are designed to maintain proper oil level at the oil pump pickup during vehicle accelerations, both lateral and linear. The baffle maintains the oil at the oil pump pickup preventing loss of engine oil pressure during maximum cornering in a high performance touring or road racing, as well as under hard acceleration in drag racing vehicles. Holley offers LS swap 4WD truck off-road oil pan baffles for a variety of trucks, including many Chevy and GMC models from the 1970s and '80s. They take Holley's popular cast aluminum oil pans (P/N 302-4 and 302-4BK) designed to swap LS engines into K10s and other trucks to a whole new level. Vehicles that endure prolonged sessions of climbing, crawling, braking, turning, and accelerating need extra protection from oil starvation. That's where these baffle kits come in. They improve upon the baffle included with those pans, maintain proper oil level at the oil pump pick-up during vehicle elevation and grade changes, accelerations, both lateral and linear, and braking. This prevents loss of engine oil pressure during off-road excursions as well as during hard acceleration. Each baffle is fabricated from sheet aluminum joined by TIG-welded joints.
