The MSD Direct Ignition System (DIS) controller greatly simplifies the conversion from conventional distributor-type engines to a coil-per-plug configuration. Benefits include the elimination of distributor cap and rotor wear; reduced spark energy losses caused by long spark plug wires; and the ability to optimize your ignition tuning parameters. The integral 2.5 bar MAP sensor and optional temperature sensor input mean you get the most power and reliability out of your naturally aspirated or forced induction engine. Nitrous-fed engines benefit from the included Step Retard feature. Drag racers will appreciate the 2-Step rev limiter and Launch Retard features. Real-time DIS configuration and tune-up changes are a snap with easy-to-use MSDView software. Thanks to the real-time monitor feature of MSDView, and 8 MB of internal data storage in the DIS controller, data monitoring and logging have never been easier. Dinan Power Control Units (PCUs) are in-line tuning modules based off over a decade of lessons learned in the category. At their core, the plug-and-play control units install between select sensors and the ECU, adjusting these signals to achieve increased performance that the stock programming is unable to approach. What sets them apart is their integration into more than just the fundamental boost sensors, but also additional connections--inclusive of OBDII, resulting in a more capable system that does more than just increase power. Dinan PCUs are controlled by a free Bluetooth app, available for both iOS and Android, and is home to all the potent features the device offers. Equipped with five different pre-set performance levels, you can use your smart phone and PCU app to change performance levels on the fly, revert to stock, set boost by gear, as well as monitor vehicle health via logging, customizable gauges, and code reading/clearing, ensuring a seamless tuning experience that even a novice can be comfortable with. Lastly, safety and reliability have been cornerstones of the Dinan brand for generations and not only does the Dinan PCU not hinder any factory safeguards or emissions controls but incorporates its own safety features as well. Going one step beyond our own internal protections, the PCUs also grant the end user the ability to monitor up to 20 different engine parameters in real time via customizable in-app gauges for verification of worry-free operation. Those same parameters can also be logged/viewed in app (or exported to CSV) for further scrutiny if desired.
