Hays heavy-duty flexplates for high performance and competition engines are constructed from a thicker-than-stock steel plate. This enables them to withstand the stress of high-stall torque converters and high-rpm engines. While factory stock plates tend to crack around the crankshaft hub when punished under high-torque and rpm conditions, the thicker Hays flexplates can handle the force. These heavy-duty flexplates are supplied with a ring gear that is securely welded in place. Artec Industries patent pending 14-bolt rear Apex short axle trusses feature a stronger design, lighter weight and are much easier to install. The key feature that sets them apart from the other brands is their unique peaked-shape top which provides extra rigidity to the whole truss, while allowing both a reduction in weight (vs. using a thicker material top) and eliminating long weld seams. Previous truss versions with long weld seams can lead to extra weld warping of the axle, longer install times and can be inconsistent. Without long seams to weld, the 14-bolt rear Apex short axle trusses can be dropped directly on to the axle, and then these trusses can be welded to the axle faster.
