A worn oil pump drive assembly will probably trigger a check engine light and will make a funny squeaking sound that has been described as a laughing barrel of monkeys, however it is no laughing matter. The factory design poses a lack of lubrication, that could result in premature failure. Crown Automotive oil pump drive assemblies (OPDA) feature redesigned internals to eliminate the problems with the factory units, a seal under the upper bearing which caused the bearing to fail prematurely. Racepak's Vehicle Network (V-Net) is a "smart data" transfer network able to transmit multiple signals from sensors over a single cable. The key to the V-Net system is the modular connectors that attach each of the devices to the main cable. For a function or component to be monitored on the V-Net, the signal from that device must pass through a sensor and its module (essentially a miniature computer) that identifies and retrieves only the proper incoming signals and allows other signals to pass through. The sensor measures the input from the function or device (i.e. rpm, pressure, temperature, etc.), while the module converts the signal so it can be transmitted over the V-Net. Racepak analog pre-programmed V-Net modules with sensors are programmed to collect specific data and are ready for plug-and-play installation on the V-Net cable. What do you get when you add a rev limiter to the MSD's already bulletproof 6M-2 marine ignitions? The MSD 6M-2Ls! These ignitions are designed for performance marine applications where a high-energy and reliable ignition is a necessity. The capacitive discharge (CD) multiple sparks from the 6-series circuitry ensure easier starting, improved performance, and reduced plug fouling while idling. The MSD 6M-2L ignitions have the same mounting footprint as the original units, so they will easily fit into existing brackets. The proven Soft-Touch rev limiting action is set using MSD's marine rpm modules, so you'll be able to set a rev limit exactly where your engine needs it. The 6M-2L ignitions are built to deal with constant high rpm and load conditions unique to marine applications. To protect the 6M-2Ls' electrical circuitry from direct water contact, the entire units are potted with red polyurethane. This material prevents the electrical components from coming into contact with water or other chemicals that could cause damage. Weathertight connectors with multi-ribbed seals are unaffected by water, oil, gasoline, and most other chemicals associated with boats. The 6M-2L ignitions can be triggered by a magnetic pickup (distributor or crank trigger), amplifier, or breaker point distributor. The cable harness has the proper connector, so you can plug the 6M-2Ls directly into MSD's Pro-Billet marine distributors.

MSD Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run EFI distributors are the perfect upgrade when you start making serious power with your EFI Ford or Chevy. They use a stock-style trigger pickup and come with plug-in connectors. Installation is simple by removing the stock distributor, then plugging in and bolting the new one in place! A maintenance-free magnetic pickup accurately triggers this ignition with increased output from the amplifier, easily outperforming stock ignitions. These distributors will smooth out the engine's idle, improve starting, and perform at a much higher rpm. Their housings are machined from billet aluminum, using state-of-the-art CNC mills and lathes. For stability and endurance, an oversized steel shaft spins in a top-mounted sealed ball bearing for accuracy through the entire rpm range. Chevy models also feature an extra-long sintered bushing at the bottom and an extra oil tract machined into the bottom of the housing for improved lubrication. The tract delivers oil directly to the cam and distributor gears. All of the shafts receive a QPQ coating for low friction wear, and resistance against corrosion from humidity and ozone buildup. The Chevrolet models have also been tested by the Underwriter's Laboratory, and are certified to meet or exceed safety standards for marine ignition systems as set by the U.S. Coast Guard.
