MSD Pro 600 CDI ignition kits with high-output coils answer this need. The Pro 600 CDI ignitions provide unrivaled spark energy and dependability. They have built-in protection for accidental reverse battery connection, over temperature protection, and LED diagnostics that can identify an issue with individual coils should a problem arise. They also feature a programmable power setting to allow racers to switch between 250 to 400 millijoule outputs, or the industry-leading output of 680 millijoules via an activation wire or software, meaning that you can turn it down for the long haul and then set it to kill mode at the strip, making the Pro 600 ideal for a Drag Week-style car and really any no-compromise vehicle. Perfectly complementing the Pro 600 ignition box in these MSD kits are high-output 8280 ignition coils, replacing the extremely capable 8232 coils used in the 8-channel capacitive discharge ignition kits. MSD offers universal wiring harnesses to simplify the installation of a MSD 6 Series box on late model vehicles. The harnesses plug in between the ignition coil and the factory coil connector. Four wires with corresponding colors and matching connectors then connect directly to the MSD 6 wires. These harnesses reduce the installation time, reduce or eliminate cut wires, and allow you to quickly convert back to the factory ignition.

MSD distributorless ignition tachometer adapters allow you to install an aftermarket tachometer on vehicles with no distributor and multiple coil packs. These compact tach drivers measure only 1.5"x 3.5"x 2" and are potted with a polyurethane compound for vibration and water protection so it can easily be mounted under the hood. It wires inline on the coils' 12 volt supply wire where it senses the current going through the wire and converts this information into a 12 volt output signal that most aftermarket tachometers use as a trigger signal. MSD distributorless ignition tachometer adapters can be used on 4, 6 or 8-cylinder engines.

Convert your OEM-style breaker points and condenser to the more reliable Unilite ignition from Mallory. These self-contained units have no moving parts to wear out, so they provide many years of trouble-free service. Simply replace the points with the Unilite module, which consists of a photo coupler, signal processor, and power switch. Each time the shutter wheel stops the infrared light from reaching the photo coupler, the electronic circuitry energizes the ignition coil. When the shutter wheel allows the light to reach the photo coupler, the stored energy in the coil discharges. These kits can drive both OEM and high-performance ignition coils, and are designed for 12 V negative ground systems.

Finally, all-out performance distributors to replace the OEM GM LT1 Optisparks--MSD's Pro-Billet LT1 distributors. They feature a precision-machined billet aluminum housing that fits in place of the factory piece, a new pickup assembly, a trick timing adjustment mechanism, and a new MSD distributor cap and rotor. The pickup is an advanced optical encoder that has proven to be very reliable and stable through extreme rpm and conditions. The rotor is bolted to a drive assembly that is indexed to the shaft, and is stabilized through the use of a large ball bearing assembly. The distributors use an adjustment screw to advance or retard the timing by up to 5 degrees.
