MSD Atomic AirForce intake manifolds have been designed using Computational Fluid Dynamic Modeling to create optimal plenum volume and efficient paths for improved airflow and distribution to stock and modified engines. Their unique bell-mouthed runner entrances maximize airflow and minimize shrouding--efficiently using the available plenum volume for an unobstructed flow path over opposing runners. The 2-piece molded polymer design resists heat soak, minimizes weight, and allows easy access to the runners for porting. MSD Atomic AirForce intake manifolds accept an OEM or 103mm throttle body, as well as stock, aftermarket, or Atomic LS EFI fuel rails. They are supplied with new gaskets and hardware for a direct bolt-on package. The 103mm throttle bore allows the use of large throttle bodies for greater airflow, and a direct-flow path runner design promotes maximum airflow.

If your racecar, Corvette, or race Corvette requires a distributor with a mechanical tach drive, these Pro-Billet Tach Drive distributors from MSD are what you need. Their race-proven magnetic pickup delivers precise trigger signals to your MSD ignition every time one of the reluctor's precision paddles pass by. This reluctor assembly is connected to an oversized steel shaft for increased strength and endurance, and is responsible for triggering the magnetic pickup. Inside the stout billet 6061-T6 aluminum housing, a sealed ball bearing and long sintered bushing guide the 0.500 in. steel shaft for high-rpm accuracy. Just above the reluctor is an adjustable mechanical advance assembly that lets you tailor a timing curve to match your engine's needs. This assembly is TIG welded for strength, and features chromoly weights and nylon pads to ensure smooth advance as the rpm increases. Corvette models feature a vacuum advance, and are available with or without an adjustable slip collar for engines that have had the deck height modified or use exotic intake manifolds. The distributors also feature a Rynite base. The tach drive assembly has a grease fitting for lubrication, is compact to clear the firewall and linkage, and can be repositioned easily to fit different applications. These distributors require the use of a separate ignition box, such as an MSD 6, 7, 8, or 10 Series ignition.

MSD Pro-Billet locked-out distributors are built from strong billet aluminum for engines that run locked-out timing or an MSD timing computer. With no advance assembly, the rotor plate is welded directly to the oversized shaft. A sealed ball bearing guides the top of the shaft, while an extra-long sintered bushing stabilizes the lower portion. This extra support ensures stable and accurate timing signals throughout your engine's entire rpm range. Trigger signals are produced via a high-output magnetic pickup. This pickup is extremely accurate and never requires adjustment. A precision-manufactured reluctor is responsible for triggering the pickup. Since these distributors are designed primarily for race engines, an oversized (+.006 in.) bronze gear is installed, along with an adjustable slip collar for modified blocks, heads, or intake manifolds.

MSD Boost Timing Master Ignitions

If you run a blower, turbo, or even a naturally aspirated engine, MSD's Boost Timing Masters allow you to run at the edge of detonation for maximum power output. They can prevent detonation by automatically retarding the timing as your manifold pressure increases. The secret lies in a boost pressure sensor that's inside MSD's solid-state control box. The sensor reads boost pressure through a 1/8 in. vacuum hose attached to a boost pressure source. The result gives you peak power without harmful detonation. A dash-mounted control knob allows you to dial in the retard from 1 to 3 degrees per pound of boost pressure, up to a maximum retard of 15 degrees. Vacuum tubing is not included. These units must be used with an MSD 6, 7 or 8 series ignition.

MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor spark plug wire sets feature a special helically wound core that has just 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot—but with an RFI suppression equal to a 1,500 ohm wire. In fact, each foot of finished wire includes 40 ft. of tightly wound copper for superior conductivity. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective Electro Magnetic Interference "choke." MSD Pro-Billet distributors share the same CNC machining techniques as the rest of the MSD distributor line. They feature a housing that's machined from high-quality 6061-T6 aluminum for durability and show-quality looks. Their oversized shaft receives a QPQ coating for friction reduction and corrosion resistance, with the added strength of two sealed ball bearings that guide the shaft accurately at well over 10,000 rpm. An extra-long sintered bushing replaces the ball bearing at the bottom of Chevrolet models. TIG-welded on top of the polished steel shaft is MSD's accurate mechanical advance assembly. The weights are supported by nylon pads that allow the advance to operate smoothly throughout the rpm range. For all-out racing, the advance mechanism can also be easily locked out. To accurately trigger the ignition, a high-output magnetic pickup is bolted to the base. This pickup produces a precise trigger signal that will never vary more than one degree at any rpm.
