Artec Industries patent pending 14-bolt rear Apex short axle trusses feature a stronger design, lighter weight and are much easier to install. The key feature that sets them apart from the other brands is their unique peaked-shape top which provides extra rigidity to the whole truss, while allowing both a reduction in weight (vs. using a thicker material top) and eliminating long weld seams. Previous truss versions with long weld seams can lead to extra weld warping of the axle, longer install times and can be inconsistent. Without long seams to weld, the 14-bolt rear Apex short axle trusses can be dropped directly on to the axle, and then these trusses can be welded to the axle faster. Mount your lower control arms using heavy-duty replacement brackets from Artec Industries. They're made from 1/4 in. in. thick steel plate for strength and have grease fitting access on top to allow easy maintenance of your joint. The brackets have a 2.625 in. mounting width with 9/16 in. bolt hole for common sized style cartridge joints. The skid plate on the bottom of each bracket wraps around the joint, protecting it from direct impact and decreasing premature wear; this skid plate design does not restrict movement of the joint. Tapered sides allow the Artec lower control arm brackets to be mounted at an angle on the frame without excess material hanging off the side. Choose the style needed to mount front or rear control arms on your specific vehicle.

Finding the proper fasteners in your local hardware store can be a challenge—especially for automotive purposes. Instead, simply order Artec Industries high steer stud kits, the OE-style replacements needed for your Dana axle. Most of these steel studs have a black oxide finish, fine threads on both ends, and offer tensile strength up to 220,000 psi. (Some kits also include nuts and/or conical washers.) Remember, stock bolts are typically too short for high steer applications. Artec studs are sold individually or in multi-pack sets.
