The pistons are hand-deburred and then coated with dry phosphate to protect against ring micro-welding and pin galling during initial startup. For additional performance, Mahle added its proprietary Grafal anti-friction coating to the piston skirts. Part numbers with T on the end have a cutting edge ceramic-based thermic barrier. Upgrade your Wrangler's rear axle with TeraFlex 8-lug full-float conversion kits! Heavy wheels and oversized tires, high-speed impacts, and low-range twisting and binding can take a toll on the factory-style axle shafts and wheel bearing assemblies. Even an upgraded 35-spline axle conversion shaft is subject to the same limitations. These TeraFlex full-float kits use a 2-wheel bearing design to spread the weight of the vehicle evenly across the forged 4140 chromoly spindles, removing vehicle weight from the axle shaft.
