ATK Stage 3 or complete dressed engines are engineered for those wanting to drop the engine into their project and fire it up. The blocks can accept a maximum stroke of 4.250 in., a maximum bore of 4.250 in., and can support displacements of 454 cu. in. or more. LSX Bowties feature cast iron construction with an orange powdercoat finish. They accept all Gen III and IV LS-style cylinder heads, crankshafts, camshafts, and other components. Direct from Chevrolet Performance are these 454 c.i.d. bare engine blocks. These are special Gen. VI bare iron blocks with 4.25 in. cylinder bores with 4-bolt main bearing caps. They have machined fuel pump pads, a one-piece rear main seal design, and standard 454 deck height. The maximum cylinder bore on these blocks is 4.25 in. plus .060 in. O.S., and will require the "Gen V/GenVI" design one-piece oil pan.
