At the core of these extremely durable compressors are super-quiet pumps featuring cast iron crankcases, precision-balanced cast iron crankshafts, and high-quality stainless steel roller bearings to ensure smooth, efficient operation. For long life and rebuildability, EMAX adds steel connecting rods with replaceable rod bearing inserts, removable cast iron cylinders and cylinder heads, disc intake and exhaust valves, and cast iron flywheels with built-in fans. These bigger low-rpm pumps have a larger bore and stroke, so you get big cfm output with reduced friction and heat buildup.
Industrial Series compressors have name brand, open-drip (OPD), low-rpm motors (1,750 rpm). Because of their higher torque factor, compared to the 3,450 rpm motors most manufacturers use, they run much cooler. With low harmonic distortion, these motors provide much higher torque in cold weather starting, and require less electricity to start. Other features include large starting and running capacitors, and dynamically balanced armatures. Running and starting windings are all copper-wound for premium efficiency, reliable performance, and durability. These motors meet all UL and CSA requirements and include pre-wired Condor combination starter and pressure switches with actuation-type diaphragms.
EMAX uses only taper-lock style, 2-groove pulleys with dual 2-groove, B-style belts to drive their pumps. Dual belts ensure long belt life with low vibration for smoother, quieter operation because dual belts do not have to be as tight as a single belt. Tighter belts put more load on the compressor pump and the motor bearings; that decreases the life of both. Much better than a fixed bore pulley with a set screw; the taper-lock design locks the pulley in position on the motor shaft preventing it from loosening or moving.
