Hooker Super Competition Sidemount Headers
Hooker Super Competition sidemount headers and mufflers deliver the most aggressive style and performance for your early Corvette, Camaro, Nova, or Firebird. Sidemount headers are built from lightweight 18-gauge tubing. Sidetubes slip directly into the collector for a leak-free seal. They are available in your choice of three finishes: Show quality chrome, high heat-resistant black paint, and metallic ceramic coating. The replaceable mufflers are available separately in two different styles: glasspack and reverse flow. The glasspack style provides the highest performance with minimal backpressure and sound control, while the reverse flow is designed for maximum sound control. Competition Engineering Fabricated Rear Axle Housings
Competition Engineering one-piece fabricated rear axle housings are CAD-designed and CNC-machined to be stronger and lighter than other styles. Their triangulated design provides the structural integrity required for racing. Made from chromoly or mild steel, the outer shell is 1/8 in. thick, and the faceplate is 1/4 in. thick. Configured for a 9 in. Ford, the housings come in either full-bodied car style, with cut-to-length 3 in. O.D. x .250 in. wall axle tubes, or dragster style, with big Ford forged housing ends aligned with the center section. The full style has an overall width of 60.75 in., the dragster style is 27.6 in. wide, and the faceplate accepts 3/8 in. studs. A drain plug, filler plug, and breather bung are included.
