RideTech StrongArm suspension systems utilize an offset trailing arm with a "trussed" design which allows maximum tire width while providing the utmost in strength. The rear trailing arms have PTFE bearings, and the strut rods are outfitted with R-joint rod ends to combine the best qualities of low-friction movement, lateral stability, full range articulation, and quiet operation into one special bearing that is as home on the street as it is on the racetrack. When combined with the tubular rear crossmember, the trailing arms place the coilovers to the rear of the axle for better motion ratio and damping control while providing additional height adjustment via the movable lower coilover mounts. RideTech 1979-93 Mustang bolt-in SLA (Short-Long-Arm) front suspension systems replace the stock McPherson strut design with a billet aluminum upper control arm, tubular lower arm and spindles with S550 Mustang hubs. The factory strut design offers very little camber gain and poor overall geometry. This design greatly improves negative camber gain, which positions the tire perpendicular to the pavement through the corners without the need for excessive static camber and overly stiff spring rates. Caster, roll center and Ackerman angles were also optimized. These suspension systems are compatible with either Ridetech coilovers or Shockwave air suspension (sold separately).
