Street racing burned rubber through Los Angeles, California during the 1950s, drawing fans of all ages with raucous noise and adrenaline thrills to this all-American sport. This tee embodies the toughness of the early American Made trucks—and features the iconic Chevy front facing Bowtie logo. Chevy first used the emblem in 1914 on the H Series models (Royal Mail and Baby Grand) and the L Series model (Light Six). It may have been designed from wallpaper Chevrolet co-founder Wm. Durant once saw in a hotel room. More recent research by historian Ken Kaufmann presents a case that the Bowtie is based on a logo of the "Coalettes" coal company. An example of this logo as it appeared in an advertisement for Coalettes was seen in the Atlanta Constitution on November 12, 1911. Over time, Chevrolet would use several different iterations of the Bowtie logo at the same time, often using blue for passenger cars, gold for trucks, and an outline (usually in red) for cars that had performance packages. Chevy eventually unified all vehicle models with the gold Bowtie in 2004, but this tee is one that's meant to bring back the original feeling of power: The feeling of power when you're wearing it, and the feeling of power when you're driving.

By any calculation, 1966 was a momentous year for the GTO. The original muscle car had come into its own in persona and popularity. It even became a separate series featuring the hardtop, pillared sports coupe, and convertible. The GTO's all-new body incorporated Coke-bottle side styling and a recessed backlight, with sail panels that provided a semi-fastback appearance. Graduating from the tough, boxy street brawler look of 1965, the '66 was refined with integrated shapes. Its front bumper became an integral part of the nose, closely following the curves of the newly sculpted split grilles and headlamp bezels. Parking lamps were set into the grilles à la the 1963 and 1964 Grand Prixes, and the grilles were blacked out--a muscle car styling cue that Pontiac initiated on the GTO in 1964 and would be used by much of its competition going forward. This 1:18 scale 1966 Pontiac GTO Restomod diecast model includes a killer custom paint job, black Street Fighter wheels and tires, plumbed and wired engine, folding front seats, fully detailed chassis, poseable steering, and opening doors, trunk, and hood.
