Skunk2's industry-leading Alpha Series titanium valve spring retainers are designed to significantly reduce valvetrain mass, resulting in more horsepower and improved valvetrain stability. They feature radius-cut edges for additional rocker arm clearance and reduced weight, strategically positioned lightening grooves, and reduced overall heights for better valve seal clearance and even further weight reduction. These components are manufactured using the latest 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to ensure that each retainer is optimized for strength, as well as for reduced weight. Skunk2 engineers then test and prove their designs on the engine dyno, as well as the race track. Once approved for manufacturing, only medical-grade titanium that's been ultrasonically inspected and certified is used. These Sealed Power MA Series main bearings can actually polish the journals on your crankshaft. That's because there's a small percentage of silicon mixed in with the aluminum and tin that make up the bearing-surface alloy. The silicon is there for wear resistance, but its toughness actually smoothes the journals of a crank whose surface hasn't been optimized! This special surface alloy is laid over a high-strength 1010 steel backing and delivers improved seizure and corrosion resistance, as well as better control of wall variance. It also helps to minimize debris embedding, which can score the crank's surface.

Clevite H-Series rod bearings were developed primarily for use in NASCAR type racing but are suitable for all types of competition engines. These H-Series bearings have a medium level of eccentricity, high crush factor, and have hardened steel backs and thin overlays. They also have enlarged chamfers for greater crankshaft fillet clearance and are made without flash plating for better seating. Bearings with .001 in. extra clearance are available for standard size shafts and with or without dowel holes. H-Series bearings are recommended for use with crankshafts that have oversize fillets and where engines run in the medium to high rpm range. They should also be used if contact patterns obtained with Clevite P-Series bearings are too narrow. Contact patterns should ideally cover 2/3 to 3/4 of the bearing surface.
