NGK Spark Plugs offers NTK engine coolant temperature sensors for a variety of applications. They determine the exact temperature of the engine coolant by sending an analog signal to the ECM to ensure proper air/fuel ratio along with proper operation of the cooling fan(s) and temperature gauge. These brass sensors may be located on the cylinder head, engine block, thermostat housing or intake manifold. Reasons for replacement include: Check engine light illumination, erratic or no temperature gauge operation, erratic or no cooling fan operation, and engine overheating. Additional notes: * The NTK Difference: Thread sealant/O-ring installed where applicable. Thermistor placement within the housing matches OE to ensure proper output. Proper thermal conductive grease provides accurate temperature transfer to the thermistor. * Engine coolant temperature sensors measure the temperature of the coolant. The readings from the ECT sensor are sent back to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to adjust the fuel injection and ignition timing. * Sensors are manufactured to operational performance standards to meet or exceed OE fit, form and function to ensure proper engine operating temperature. * Faster response time: Thermal conductive grease inside brass housing increases sensor response time * OE matched: Wires and probe length match original equipment.
