Smith Brothers Trunnion Bushings

OEM LS rocker arms are prone to failure, which can result in needle bearings being dispersed through the engine. Smith Brothers suggests replacing the factory needle bearings with solid bronze trunnion bushings that promote even wear and disperse valve spring load evenly. This trunnion upgrade also allows for 360 degree rotation and eliminates the travel stops (which create problems with higher lift camshafts) in the original OE rocker design.

PRW LS Series Fulcrums

PRW LS Series fulcrums are performance upgrade kits for GM LS engine rocker arms. They replace the stock rocker fulcrum with a stronger trunnion assembly—often featuring drawn cup bearings or silicone bronze bushings instead of the factory needle bearings—to enhance durability and handle higher lift cams and RPMs. These kits are designed to upgrade the stock LS rocker arms to make them more robust for performance applications. Key features: * The primary purpose is to improve the strength and durability of factory LS rocker arms, not to replace them entirely * Kits typically include replacement fulcrums (trunnions), circlips, and fasteners for the 16 rocker arms in a V8 engine * Kits often replace the stock's "uncaptured" needle bearings with more robust drawn cup bearings or oil-lubricated silicone bronze bushings, which are less prone to failure and collapsing * This upgrade makes the valvetrain more reliable under the stress of performance modifications like high-lift camshafts and stiffer valve springs * They provide a significant strength upgrade without the cost of purchasing a full set of high-end aftermarket rocker arms
