COMP Cams muscle car and street rod engine oil is a blended-synthetic oil that delivers the time-tested wear protection of a mineral oil with the advanced performance, extended change intervals, and internal cleanliness of a synthetic. Special corrosive protection additives and optimum amounts of ZDDP (zinc and phosphorous) provide unmatched anti-wear properties, even during extended periods of storage. This is an advanced engine oil available in both 10W30 and 15W50 formulas and is perfect for late model or classic engines with flat tappet valvetrains. After incorporating three decades of internal engine know-how and extensive testing data, COMP Cams is certain that there's nothing better for your muscle car or street rod.

COMP Cams offers a complete line of valve seals, from the stock GM O-rings to the positive-stop PTFE seals. They are a must to keep unwanted oil from entering the combustion chamber through the clearance in the valve guides. The O-ring seals use the standard retainer and oil splash shield. The umbrella seals are normally used when a larger-than-stock diameter spring is used. In the case of a double spring, the positive stop PTFE seals are used. For triple-spring applications, use the smaller-diameter Viton® seals.

Initial startup is the most critical time in the life of any camshaft. COMP Cams Pro Cam lube can break in your camshafts properly. This lube must be spread generously on all lobes of the cam, the bottom of the lifters, and the distributor gear when installing a cam. This is the instant protection that you need to guard against any premature wear.

The new COMP Cams DLC High Energy hydraulic lifters perform mechanically just as COMP's well-known High Energy line, but with the added benefit of a DLC surface treatment. This produces a flat tappet lifters with an extremely hard, tough, and slick face that reduces friction at the cam lobe. The unique coating extends the life of the lifter and camshaft, significantly reducing the likelihood of a flattened cam lobe. Additionally, COMP Cams DLC High Energy hydraulic lifters virtually eliminate the need for the traditional break-in procedure associated with cast iron camshafts and flat tappet lifters. They maintain the excellent hydraulic performance that the High Energy Hydraulic Lifters have provided for many years.

These High Energy hydraulic lifters from COMP Cams feature a patented, constant orifice-metering valve that precisely meters oil to the rocker arms. Continuous contact between the metering valve and the precisely coined bottom surface of the pushrod seat is maintained throughout the engine's rpm range, eliminating excessive oiling at high speeds. The pushrod seat is made of a special powdered metal iron alloy, heat-treated for strength and wear resistance. The longer piston is produced with through-hardened steel that provides more bearing surface and increased lifter longevity. These lifters have a lightweight check valve disk that allows for quicker response, resulting in increased engine speed before valve float.
