It may be necessary to check clearance and slightly modify some domed aftermarket pistons due to the efficient heart-shaped combustion chamber on these heads (most of the newer designed dome profiles will clear). FLOTEK recommends removing material from the piston and not the cylinder head, as the combustion chamber shapes are very critical to flow—altering the cylinder head can unfavorably affect flow and power performance.
