These general purpose turbine-type flow meters, when used along with DataLink's math channel capabilities, allow you to monitor the health of your fuel pump, as well as confirm the function of your fuel system timers and system lean-outs. Also offered in low-flow versions, those designated as low-flow are recommended for carbureted applications and are calibrated in lbs./hr. unless otherwise noted. MSD Atomic transmission control modules are designed to adjust the operating parameters of later model electronically controlled 4-speed automatic overdrive transmissions. They're simple to configure with the supplied hand-held monitor--no PC required. You now have access to adjust shift points, adjust torque converter clutch behavior, select different levels of shift firmness, select between auto-shift and manual shift mode, and activate dyno mode to deliver repeatable chassis dyno results. The included hand-held monitor connects to them and can be left in place as a dashboard to monitor the transmission in real time, or can be disconnected when the configuration is complete. Once installed, these modules need only a few basic parameters to complete the initial setup. First, select the type of transmission you are using--all supported transmission types are listed in the menu. Other required fields include the number of engine cylinders, rear-end gear ratio, and tire height. Once this has been completed, you can now start and drive the vehicle, while taking advantage of the advanced setup menu items to dial-in the transmission to your liking. If you run a blower, turbo, or even a naturally aspirated engine, MSD's Boost Timing Masters allow you to run at the edge of detonation for maximum power output. They can prevent detonation by automatically retarding the timing as your manifold pressure increases. The secret lies in a boost pressure sensor that's inside MSD's solid-state control box. The sensor reads boost pressure through a 1/8 in. vacuum hose attached to a boost pressure source. The result gives you peak power without harmful detonation. A dash-mounted control knob allows you to dial in the retard from 1 to 3 degrees per pound of boost pressure, up to a maximum retard of 15 degrees. Vacuum tubing is not included. These units must be used with an MSD 6, 7 or 8 series ignition.
