If your racecar, Corvette, or race Corvette requires a distributor with a mechanical tach drive, these Pro-Billet Tach Drive distributors from MSD are what you need. Their race-proven magnetic pickup delivers precise trigger signals to your MSD ignition every time one of the reluctor's precision paddles pass by. This reluctor assembly is connected to an oversized steel shaft for increased strength and endurance, and is responsible for triggering the magnetic pickup. Inside the stout billet 6061-T6 aluminum housing, a sealed ball bearing and long sintered bushing guide the 0.500 in. steel shaft for high-rpm accuracy. Just above the reluctor is an adjustable mechanical advance assembly that lets you tailor a timing curve to match your engine's needs. This assembly is TIG welded for strength, and features chromoly weights and nylon pads to ensure smooth advance as the rpm increases. Corvette models feature a vacuum advance, and are available with or without an adjustable slip collar for engines that have had the deck height modified or use exotic intake manifolds. The distributors also feature a Rynite base. The tach drive assembly has a grease fitting for lubrication, is compact to clear the firewall and linkage, and can be repositioned easily to fit different applications. These distributors require the use of a separate ignition box, such as an MSD 6, 7, 8, or 10 Series ignition.

The MSD Pro-Billet HEI distributors pick up where the originals left off. Drawing on years of high-performance ignition experience, MSD engineers created a unique ignition module and internal coil that are capable of running above 9,000 rpm. Stock and other aftermarket modules lose spark energy at about 4,500 rpm. These modules produce 50 percent more current than stock units, and deliver a much more precise timing signal as well as more dwell control. The coil delivers over 100 millijoules of energy across the plug gap. For strength and high rpm stability, the QPQ-treated oversized shaft is guided by a sealed ball bearing on top and long sintered bushing at the bottom. The QPQ coating provides a low-friction coating on the shaft and also makes it highly resistant to corrosion. TIG welded to the top of the shaft is an adjustable mechanical advance assembly. The distributors are supplied with extra springs and stop bushings, so you can tailor an ignition curve to match your driving needs. The advance assembly features chromoly weights that slide on nylon pads for smooth timing advancement through the entire rpm range. There is also a vacuum advance canister to improve economy while cruising. All of these features are enclosed in a great looking, billet aluminum housing that is CNC-machined for accuracy and incredible strength. The distributors come complete and ready to drop in with a high-quality rotor and cap with brass terminals for great spark transfer. Simply connect a 12 V source to the distributor and you're up and running. They're designed to replace GM HEI distributors that use a 4-pin ignition module.

If you plan on upgrading your Mahindra Roxor, as many owners do, the factory alternator simply cannot keep up with the demands of heavy amperage draw components, such as air conditioning, winches, and of course, even audio upgrades can and will affect their performance. The cure for lack of amperage power for your 2.5/2.7 diesel engine is a MechMan 170 amp Mahindra Roxor add-on alternator kit. The OEM alternator utilizes a vacuum pump; it works and does the job. So, leaving that as is, MechMan took their tried and true, high efficiency Denso 6phase, hairpin-based alternator and use a precision CNC-cut bracket, ensuring the alternator is mounted solidly with no flex. A heim joint/rod end-style tension adjuster makes sure the belt can grip and make use of all the extra amperage. The alternator is painted a brilliant red to stand out, and includes mounting hardware and belt. With the alternator itself, you can expect a huge increase in output at idle, around 150 amps and a maximum output at driving or cruising rpms can achieve nearly 200 amps for the most demanding of components.
