They are a series of camshafts designed for use in engines that were originally equipped with flat tappet camshafts. The lobe profile and grind characteristics use a combination of an early exhaust valve opening, a long exhaust duration, and a generous amount of intake and exhaust overlap to maximize the rough-idling characteristics of the cams. Mishimoto baffled oil catch cans are designed to separate oil particles from the PCV air that would normally have just been routed back to your intake. They feature custom grooves in the catch can's inlet that turbulates the air longer and ensures that all of the oil sinks to the bottom, leaving nothing but clean air to pass through the 40 micron bronze filter to the intake. An internal baffle keeps the collected oil from splashing around under race conditions. These catch cans are machined from 100 percent billet 6061 aluminum, and accept AN fittings at the inlet, outlet, and drain area—allowing for over 27 possible configurations. For maximum fitment options, the top cog mounting setup enables the cans to be mounted from multiple angles. To make maintenance easy, the drain plug can be removed to allow for AN return to the oil pan. Mishimoto baffled oil catch cans are washable, unlike many other cans that require you to replace your filtration system, and they're available in a variety of colors. Over time, harmful oil will build up inside of the turbocharger, intake manifold, intercooler, and piping. These Mishimoto oil catch cans are designed to help prevent this from happening. By sending the extra oil to the cans, it will stay out of the pressured turbo plumbing, which can lead to couplers coming off under boost. They will also make sure that oil vapors stay out of the intake system, which will help combustion temperatures and reduce overall efficiency.
