COMP Cams offers a complete line of valve seals, from the stock GM O-rings to the positive-stop PTFE seals. They are a must to keep unwanted oil from entering the combustion chamber through the clearance in the valve guides. The O-ring seals use the standard retainer and oil splash shield. The umbrella seals are normally used when a larger-than-stock diameter spring is used. In the case of a double spring, the positive stop PTFE seals are used. For triple-spring applications, use the smaller-diameter Viton® seals.

COMP Cams oil pump primer tools allow the oil pump to be primed and the engine prelubed prior to initial start up. This eliminates the chance of a "dry start" and premature engine damage. Comp Cams cam phaser limiter kits are specially designed, computer-controlled cam gears that automatically optimize camshaft timing based on the current engine rpm Engine oil is pressure-fed to the phasers through passageways in the cylinder heads and cams. The engine computers control solenoids that adjust this oil flow into and out of the phasers' control chambers, creating the ability to retard the cams. While this technology provides fuel efficiency and the ability to always be in the best position for maximum power, regardless of engine rpm, it does present some limitations when it comes to performance cams. With such a wide range of valve timing movement, there is very little piston to valve clearance, which limits you to small cam profiles with little overlap.
