Vehicle owners utilizing torsion bar suspension are familiar with Tuff Country lowering kits. One end of the bar is firmly attached to the chassis; the opposite end terminates in a lever, the torsion key, which can raise or lower the suspension--often to level the bed due to heavily weighted engines. The kits also allow for slightly larger tires and eliminate the "nose down" look common in most trucks. Chevy and GMC vehicles, for instance, have used this type of weight-bearing spring for decades.
