Sonnax TCC regulator and isolator valve kits assist in recovering hydraulic control and renew TCC performance. Severe wear of the TCC (torque convertor clutch) regulator valve bore, caused by oscillation of the OE valve, allows the regulated converter to apply pressure to your exhaust. TransGo Performance offers solenoid repair kits for nearly a dozen automatic transmission applications, including models from Mopar and GM. Transmissions often come with contaminated governor pressure solenoids. This results in complaints of wrong gear starts, as well as governor solenoid and sensor performance codes. The computer uses the governor pressure solenoid to generate governor pressure relative to road speed, emulating what the hydraulic governor did in older 'RH' series transmissions. The computer varies the duty cycle to the PWM governor pressure solenoid to achieve the desired output pressure. Simultaneously, it monitors the feedback from the governor pressure sensor to confirm that the governor pressure is doing what it is commanded to do. When the solenoid sticks or is restricted, the computer notices that the pressure reading from the sensor does not match the desired governor pressure and sets a code which puts the unit in limp-in mode, resulting in 3rd gear start and no shift. These TransGo governor pressure solenoid repair kits contain everything you need to take apart the original equipment solenoids, restore the valve bore, then replace the spool valve, spring and cap with new ones. Vehicles with a GM 8L45 or 8L90 automatic transmission may exhibit high or low line pressure that results in harsh/soft shifts, burnt clutches, loss of cooler and lube flow, and overheating of the transmission and converter. These problems may be caused by wear of the pressure regulator bore casting at the VFS signal port area and/or at the shuttle valve sleeve. Wear at the inboard port of the pressure regulator bore allows VFS (throttle) signal pressure to leak, preventing proper action of the pressure regulator valve and potentially allowing it to remain in the low line pressure position. Wear of the shuttle sleeve due to continuous oscillation of the shuttle valve creates a path for balance line pressure at the pressure regulator valve to exhaust, resulting in excessive low line pressure. Sonnax drop-in pressure regulator and shuttle valve kits restore hydraulic integrity to the lineup by addressing wear that subjects the transmission to either excessively high or low line pressure with upgraded materials and unique designs. The pressure regulator valve has been designed with a lengthened spring pocket spool at the VFS signal port area, which provides over double the sealing capability to this critical end of the valve and allows it to operate in unworn portions of the bore. Continuous oscillation in relay valve and sequence valve bore causes wear that prevents proper hydraulic control. You can recover hydraulic control and renew 2nd and 4th gear operation by reconditioning the entire bore and installing a Sonnax oversized 4-3 sequence valve kit. These kits address wear on the inboard two spools that is increasingly more common in aging valve bodies. Wearing at these spools can allow valuable 4th servo feed leakage, resulting in no 4th and 2-4 band wear, and can also allow leakage of 2nd clutch oil needed to apply the 2-4 band in 2nd gear, resulting in poor 2nd gear shifts. Leaking at the OE end plug also allows oil loss that can leave 4th gear inoperable.
