Earl's Performance Speed-Flex Hose
Earl's Performance Speed-Flex hose is used with the Speed-Seal reusable hose ends and can handle pressure of up to 3,000 psi. Earl's considers it their highest-pressure hose, and it's lightweight and resistant to almost everything. Speed-Flex is most commonly used for brake lines, fuel/oil gauge lines, hydraulic clutches, power steering, and fuel and oil lines. It's constructed from synthetic rubber or PTFE, with a braided stainless steel covering. Some hoses are PCV coated, as well. Your options include operating psi, size, length, and color. Earl's Performance Hose Braid Spreaders
In order to insert the "olive" into Speed-Flex Hose, the stainless protective braid must be separated from the PTFE liner. This can be more difficult than it sounds. These Earl's Performance hose braid spreaders solve the problem and eliminate the tiresome probability of poking holes in your fingers. They are simply inserted into the cut end of the hose and pushed, spreading the braid. The olive is then placed on the tool mandrel, pushed over the hose liner, and under the braid until the liner bottoms against the shoulder of the olive.
