MSD three-stage retard controls allow you to retard your ignition timing in three different stages. You can activate one retard for a nitrous stage, and another at top-end in high gear for more mph, and still have another module left over for dual-stage nitrous systems. When activated together, the retard amounts are cumulative, so you get the total of the three. For example, if you pull 2 degrees, then 4 degrees on the second stage, and another 2 degrees at top-end, the total retard is 8 degrees (2+4+2=8). In addition to the individual retard stages, the Three Stage retard controls have an optional start retard function that retards the timing 10 or 25 degrees while cranking the engine. This makes starting high-compression engines with locked-out timing, such as crank trigger systems, much easier. These units easily connect to your MSD Ignition and can be triggered from points, electronic ignitions, crank triggers, or magnetic pickup distributors. They're supplied with a 2, 3, and 4 degree module, and must be used with an MSD 6, SCI, 7, 8, or 10 Series ignition.

PerTronix Second Strike ignition boxes are the only ignition boxes to provide a powerful second spark throughout the entire rpm range. This is unlike other multiple-spark discharge boxes, which typically drop off to one spark at about 3,000 rpm. They're a micro-controller based ignition that supplements most inductive-type systems (points, GM HEI, Ford TFI and Duraspark, Ignitor® and Ignitor II) with a powerful capacitive discharge second spark, resulting in more complete combustion of the fuel/air mixture. Increased burn time at very high rpm levels also reduces misfires, resulting in more peak horsepower and torque. No special distributor or coil is required. Other features include a five-wire hookup, a tachometer output, a digital rev control, and a crank angle offset, which allows you to time the second spark to occur after the primary spark, in 2 to 18 degree increments.

They allow you to upgrade your outdated points or stock electronic distributor with a performance-proven unit. The distributors feature the patented Ignitor II® electronic ignition module and a CNC-machined 6061 T-6 polished billet housing. PerTronix electronics are compatible with any inductive ignition system coil, but high-rpm performance can be improved when they are used with the low-resistance (0.6 ohm) Flame-Thrower II coil.
