MSD engineers drew upon their experience with Top Fuel cars and created these new HVC-2 coils for use with the MSD 6 Series Ignition Controls. These coils utilize an iron U-Core design with a segmented bobbin for improved voltage distribution. The bobbin is molded from Dupont Rynite FR946 and wound specifically to create an effective coil with incredible voltage capabilities, lightning quick rise time, and lengthy spark duration. The housing, also molded from Rynite material, features far-spaced brass primary terminals and a well-protected secondary tower for increased spark isolation. The housing is completely potted with an epoxy compound for vibration resistance and installs with sturdy vibration mounts. They're designed for use with MSD 6 Series ignitions.

These MSD Ford Blaster Coil-on-Plug ignition coil packs feature a patented winding design and direct bolt-in replacement. The improved spark energy and voltage of the coil packs, combined with their reliability, have made them a favorite of performance enthusiasts. They are designed as direct bolt-in replacement coils for many SOHC Ford V8 modular engines. The housing and installation are the same as the factory coils, but that is where the similarity ends. Inside the MSD coil packs, engineers used better quality materials to assemble the primary and secondary windings. The MSD Ford Blaster Coil-on-Plug ignition coil packs take the spark energy right out of the coil and put it across the plug gap to improve the combustion and output of the engine.

MSD Super HEI kits solve the common problem of power loss and a lack of response above 4,500 rpm. Different kits are available with all of them allowing you to remove or bypass the low-powered HEI module and coil and replace them with an MSD 6A or 6AL ignition control and Blaster 2 high output coil. The results are more power, an increased rpm range, easier starting, and better mileage and performance. The Super HEI conversion fits all GM V8 engines with the GM HEI internal coil distributor. The complete Super HEI kits include an MSD 6A ignition, Blaster 2 coil, coil wire, HEI dust cover, and coil bracket.
