When that happens, even the slightest amount of torque on the filter cap while performing an oil change can be enough to crack the housing and cause significant oil leaks. And living underneath the intake manifold makes it difficult to identify and diagnose leaks. Mishimoto aluminum oil filter housing kits safeguard against these problems.
