Racepak's Vehicle Network (V-Net) is a "smart data" transfer network able to transmit multiple signals from sensors over a single cable. The key to the V-Net system is the modular connectors that attach each of the devices to the main cable. For a function or component to be monitored on the V-Net, the signal from that device must pass through a sensor and its module (essentially a miniature computer) that identifies and retrieves only the proper incoming signals and allows other signals to pass through. The sensor measures the input from the function or device (i.e. rpm, pressure, temperature, etc.), while the module converts the signal so it can be transmitted over the V-Net. Racepak analog pre-programmed V-Net modules with sensors are programmed to collect specific data and are ready for plug-and-play installation on the V-Net cable. MSD Pro-Billet locked-out distributors are built from strong billet aluminum for engines that run locked-out timing or an MSD timing computer. With no advance assembly, the rotor plate is welded directly to the oversized shaft. A sealed ball bearing guides the top of the shaft, while an extra-long sintered bushing stabilizes the lower portion. This extra support ensures stable and accurate timing signals throughout your engine's entire rpm range. Trigger signals are produced via a high-output magnetic pickup. This pickup is extremely accurate and never requires adjustment. A precision-manufactured reluctor is responsible for triggering the pickup. Since these distributors are designed primarily for race engines, an oversized (+.006 in.) bronze gear is installed, along with an adjustable slip collar for modified blocks, heads, or intake manifolds.

MechMan 6-phase hairpin high-output alternators offer a solution to the inadequate alternators that come from the factory on specified vehicles. These replacement units feature twin rectifiers with 12 massive press-fit diodes, as compared to the small 8-diode rectifier in the stock alternator. Even mild performance builds will typically consume more amperage than what stock alternators can provide. Hairpin stator technology provides better high-rpm durability and better resistance to heat from the turbo manifold. The alternators utilize a high rpm-friendly larger diameter pulley, and bolt directly in place of the original equipment. The factory alternator on the 2020 and up Ford 7.3 L Godzilla engine is a bulky single or dual alternator design that is tough to package in an engine swap. We've taken our original Ready-to-Run billet distributors and upped the ante with our Summit Racing™ Digital RTR (Ready-to-Run) Plus billet distributors. They now feature a digital module with a 7.5 amp rated dwell control circuit for maximum energy output. They deliver 400 volts and 125mJ of spark energy to the coil and upwards of 50,000 volts from the coil to the spark plugs. We've also added a single-stage rev limiter with a simple "tap to ground" process of the tachometer lead attached to the module to set the limiter. The tachometer dual purpose lead also produces a 25 percent duty cycle, square wave signal, so it can be used with multifunction tachometers and most popular aftermarket EFI systems. MSD Pro-Billet distributors share the same CNC machining techniques as the rest of the MSD distributor line. They feature a housing that's machined from high-quality 6061-T6 aluminum for durability and show-quality looks. Their oversized shaft receives a QPQ coating for friction reduction and corrosion resistance, with the added strength of two sealed ball bearings that guide the shaft accurately at well over 10,000 rpm. An extra-long sintered bushing replaces the ball bearing at the bottom of Chevrolet models. TIG-welded on top of the polished steel shaft is MSD's accurate mechanical advance assembly. The weights are supported by nylon pads that allow the advance to operate smoothly throughout the rpm range. For all-out racing, the advance mechanism can also be easily locked out. To accurately trigger the ignition, a high-output magnetic pickup is bolted to the base. This pickup produces a precise trigger signal that will never vary more than one degree at any rpm. A durable gear is installed for performance applications, and an MSD red cap with brass terminals and race rotor is supplied.
