Mishimoto aluminum oil filter housing kits swap the stock plastic model for a robust all-aluminum replacement. The stock oil filter housing is known to become brittle after repeated heat cycles. When that happens, even the slightest amount of torque on the filter cap while performing an oil change can be enough to crack the housing and cause significant oil leaks.
